PEABODY
Well, "real and odd" is one way to describe this film. Real, because of the actual,
albeit depressing, footage from a Detroit Welfare office - I think - and odd, because
there is no plot whatsoever.
LEWELLYN
The idea that the same man could father four children who are almost exactly the same age
is possible, I guess, but likely?
PEABODY
Yeah, what is this film? A lesson in morality or a story of a "Johnny-Appleseed of sperm"?
LEWELLYN
I did like it when the four women were all trying to plead, simultaneously, to
the welfare people to make the guy pay them back child support.
PEABODY
When a couple of the women yelled out to their children, "Your daddy is over there!",
as the man was being hauled in by the cops in association with yet another paternity issue,
I began to see the point of this plotless film.
LEWELLYN
What was it? The point, I mean.
PEABODY
We are all victims of the bureaucracy. We are all fallible.
LEWELLYN
Well, this guy is not a victim. He's just someone who means to increase the population.
PEABODY
Don't you think that is too harsh?
LEWELLYN
Hey, what's gotten into you? You becoming one of "them"?
PEABODY
Why can't you see this is a, "but by the grace of God go I" tale?
LEWELLYN
I see it rather as a, "better thee than me" tale.
To tell you the truth, I almost puked when
the lady trying to mediate the hubbub became preoccupied picking her nose.
PEABODY
LEWELLYN
It was right after the father guy pulled a knife and had to be subdued.
PEABODY
Well, I still say this is an important film for anyone to see and try to understand.
LEWELLYN
(disbelieving what he is hearing)
I am going to have to think real hard about continuing to be your partner here. You have
flipped, Peabody. Flipped!
PEABODY
(laughing)
Gotcha! You thought I was serious?
This is, by far, the worst film we have had to review. I am sorry I even watched as
much of it as I did.
LEWELLYN
Well, that's more like it. What's up next time?
PEABODY
I believe it is a movie about the Titanic. Yeah, "Oh, Why Did I Buy a Ticket for that Boat!".
