GILLIGAN'S ISLAND

"Ahoy There!"

FADE IN: INT. GINGER'S HUT - DAY

GINGER IS STILL MASSAGING HER FESTERING BOIL-LIKE LESION AND MOANING IN PAIN.

MARY ANN KNOCKS ON HER DOOR, THEN COMES IN.

MARY ANN

Ginger? What's the matter?

GINGER HIKES UP HER DRESS.

GINGER

Oww! This place is still right here on my leg!

MARY ANN

Whoa! I thought the Professor got that tended to!

GINGER

He didn't! It's really killing me! Oooch!

MARY ANN

Never mind that, did you hear about the Skipper?

GINGER JUST LOOKS AT MARY ANN.

MARY ANN

Yeah! Your sore is not the whole world!

Anyway, the Skipper claims he saw a large ship on the horizon yesterday!

GINGER

What?

MARY ANN

I said, the Skipper claims he saw a large ship on the horizon yesterday.

GINGER

Well, then, we're saved!

MARY ANN

No. Hold on, Ginger. He saw - past tense - a ship. As in, it sailed right on past us.

GINGER

Oh, Mary Ann! Why did you get my hopes up?

CUT TO: EXT. THE SKIPPER'S HUT - DAY

PROFESSOR

So, Skipper, you say you saw a ship out there?

SKIPPER

Definitely. It just went on by like we wern't here.

PROFESSOR

And you waited until today to tell anyone about it?

SKIPPER

Well, I waved my hands and all. Nothing!

PROFESSOR

Skipper, is there any chance that you just think you saw a ship? And what you really saw was just an illusion?

SKIPPER

No, it was a ship, alright.

PROFESSOR

How do you know, since it just, as you say, sailed on by?

SKIPPER

Ah, that's what ships do, Professor.

PROFESSOR

I can't believe you didn't try to light a fire or do something to get their attention!

SKIPPER
(just looks at the Professor)

PROFESSOR

OK, if you saw a ship, which way was it going?

SKIPPER

Ah, east to west. No, wait. west to east. It was hard to tell.

PROFESSOR

Aren't you a seaman who is supposed to be clued in to the compass directions?

SKIPPER

It's all getting kind of foggy, we've been stranded so long.

PROFESSOR

Think some of that fog was what you saw out there on the horizon?

SKIPPER

Certainly not!

JUST THEN, GILLIGAN RUNS INTO THE SKIPPER'S HUT OUT OF BREATH.

GILLIGAN
(puffing)

I saw it! I saw it, too!

PROFESSOR

Saw what, Gilligan? The ship?

SKIPPER

Ship? What?

No! I saw that monkey that used to come around nibbling on Mary Ann.

PROFESSOR

Nibbling?

(dismissing)

Gilligan, we are trying to see if the Skipper really saw a ship or not.

SKIPPER

I did see it!

PROFESSOR

So you say.

JUST THEN, A MAN BEARING A STRONG RESEMBLANCE TO WALLY COX ENTERS THE SCENE FROM THE LEFT.

PROFESSOR

I'm sorry, who might you be?

FADE OUT:
