B-MOVIE CRITIQUE
Dirty Larry

PEABODY
First off, this flick could be - no, is! - the lamest excuse for a parody of a Clint Eastwood
movie ever. I mean there are no puns or over-exagerations of Dirty Harry-isms, no satirical
cop stuff, nothing! Could have been a winner! Wasn't!!
LEWELLYN
I think you are basically right on the money, but I do give credit to the special
effects group for being able to have Larry's right hand appear twice the size of his left hand. I
mean, how did they do that?
PEABODY
How?! How 'bout, WHY?? What was the point of making him look deformed? Just to be a better fit
for the canon of a pistol he toted? Not a parody of Clint, I tell you.
LEWELLYN
I thought that part was cool.
PEABODY
LEWELLYN
No, the big fingers on the big hand. When he pulled the trigger on that heater,
people could see it coming from the back row!
PEABODY
But when, in the recesses of his dark automobile while on a night-time stake-out,
he chose to pick his nose, he could hardly jam that index finger up into his nostril!
LEWELLYN
Yeah, not well thought out.
PEABODY
How about when, on the few circumstances when Larry did confront a bad guy, he tried to smile
broadly when he used the words, "punk" or "ass hole"?
LEWELLYN
PEABODY
LEWELLYN
During the final fight scene, Larry seemed to fly through the air when he jumped around.
What was that?!
PEABODY
I think that was supposed to be exaggerating the Eastwood mortality of not being
able to leap very well.
LEWELLYN
Well, they completely lost me there.
PEABODY
It was ill-timed. Too silly.
LEWELLYN
So, on the whole I think we agree that this, once again, was deemed a bad movie. By us.
PEABODY
I think that's a big affirmative, good buddy.
LEWELLYN
PEABODY
CB talk. From the 1970's.
LEWELLYN
PEABODY
So, until next time, when we will discuss another obscure film
I'll say, so long from Junior Peabody ...
LEWELLYN
... And Joe-Bob Lewellyn.
